Dr Miriam Mutebi speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about the handling of breast specimens in Sub-Saharan Africa and the risk of false-negative results in patients with breast cancer.
She states that women in this region traditionally have a higher incidence of triple-negative disease which may be due to the inappropriate handling of breast specimens.
Dr Mutebi explains how the handling of thee specimens can be improved, along with using a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve better patient outcomes.
