To help improve the quality of breast cancer care globally, a collaboration of leading partners has created the Grand Rounds in Breast Cancer series of educational webinars. This session with ecancer enables learners the opportunity to discuss controversies, real-life challenges and effective application of existing knowledge.
Professor Nirmala Bhoo Pathy (University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,) discusses improving the quality of patient-centred care. Her presentation covers topics such as patient well-being, long-term survivor support, patient needs, financial needs, and palliative care in breast cancer. She also discusses pathways that can lead to achieving patient-centred care.
Dr Luzia Travado (Champalimaud Center in Lisbon, Portugal) expands on improving the quality of patient-centred care. She talks about physicians' communication skills, distress management, and shared decision-making.
Both speakers and Dr Didier Verhoeven (University of Antwerp in Antwerp, Belgium) discuss the government's role in improving healthcare and how to provide the best patient-centred care in different cases.
