Prof Daniel Kelly speaks to cancer at the 2019 UKONS meeting about the RECaN project which examined the structure of cancer nursing and its value in four European countries - the UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Estonia.
He gives an overview of the study, which assessed how nurses rated their professional status, career development, education and safety.
Prof Kelly explains the main findings, which revealed that the UK was the most advanced in terms of career structure, education and salary.
He also addresses the UK's current nursing shortage and how we can work with policymakers to improve this.
