Dr Enrique Soto - National Institute of Medical Sciences, Mexico City, Mexico

Dr Enrique Soto speaks to ecancer at the SIOG 2019 meeting in Geneva about patient preference and health outcome prioritisation in older patients.

Older patients might not value survival as their number one outcome, they may be more interested in quality of life for example - something few studies have looked at.

Dr Soto's study looked at whether there were different characteristics in patients or prioritised something other than their survival as their outcome.

He outlines the results of the study, and what patients decided they would prefer, including an prioritisation on quality of life and cognition ability.
