Dr Liz Gwyther spoke to ecancer at the UICC World Cancer Congress in Kuala Lumpur about developing palliative care through robust evidence.
She mentions the KCL palliative outcomes scale (POS), and how that has impacted quality of care, giving evidence when discussing palliative care with governments and funders.
The benefit of this scale is that it is multidimensional, and takes multiple patient and environmental factors into account.
She explains how it's possible for all countries to get involved in using the POS, and how expansion of this scale is fully welcome and open for discussion.
