Prof Franco Locatelli - Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù, Rome, Italy

Prof Franco Locatelli talks to ecancer at the ALL Assembly 2018 Meeting in Amsterdam about whether it is possible to reduce the intensity of frontline therapy.

Prof Locatelli outlines the results of a trial he presented on behalf of Prof Martin Schrappe.

He states that unfortunately a reduction in chemotherapy intensity was associated with an increased risk of leukaemia recurrence.

He adds, however, that for some subset groups such as children under the age of 7, the reduction of therapy was not associated with an increase of recurrence.
