Dr Thanh Huong Tran Thi - Director, Vietnam National Cancer Institute

Dr Thanh Huong Tran Thi speaks to ecancer at the Southeast Asian Breast Cancer Symposium (SEABCS) 2023 about the impact of this symposium for breast cancer patients and healthcare professionals in the South East Asian region.

SEABCS 2023 gathers the region’s cancer survivors, patient advocates, health professionals, researchers, and policy makers to exchange ideas, share successful strategies, the latest in breast cancer, as well as the many challenges that face the breast cancer community on a personal, local, national, regional and international level.

Dr Thanh Huong Tran Thi explains that the meeting offers important educational opportunities for attendees.

The meeting is important because of the title. Breast cancer in South-East Asian countries, in which Vietnam is one of the Asian countries. The title also emphasises on how the breast cancer women do after the COVID pandemic. In this symposium we also invited many international experts from IARC, from UICC, from WHO and many organisations for nursing and also survivorship experts so that the people can say their experience. In Vietnam we also learn a lot from the conference.
