Dr Arnold John Uson - Perpetual Succour Hospital of Cebu, Cebu, Philippines

Dr Arnold John Uson speaks to ecancer about low-value practices that result in poor patient outcomes in low-middle income countries.

Dr Uson says that multidisciplinary teams (MDT) sometimes do not take inputs from oncological teams for the curative treatment of cancers and that can result in poor patient prognosis.

He summarises the key messages of his talk at the Choosing Wisely conference. With the universal health care law and the recent implementation of the national integrated cancer control act better and uniform cancer care policies can be expected in the recent future in the Philippines.
