Prof Richard Sullivan (Kings College London, London, UK) speaks to Prof Tezer Kutluk (Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine & Cancer Institute, Ankara, Turkey) about his papers for ecancer on cancer care in Turkey.
They start by Prof Kutluk giving some background on what led to doing a review of the literature on palliative care in Turkey. He comments on what they found from this review and notes that interviews with key opinion leaders will be published in the future.
They then discuss the article on the effect of COVID-19 on paediatric cancer care in Turkey and their collaboration with Prof Richard Harding's team at King's College London.
Throughout the discussion Prof Sullivan and Prof Kutluk make observations on the changing landscape of oncology in Turkey over the last decade and what challenges remain.
