Dr Mohandas is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Digestive Diseases at Tata Medical Center, India. Dr Mohandas has a clinical interest in the multi-modal treatment of digestive tract cancers and a research interest in clinical trials, digestive cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention. After passing MBBS and MD (Medicine) at Bombay University, he trained in Gastroenterology, Digestive Oncology and Cancer Epidemiology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, as well as at MSKCC, New York, USA, and the Medical College of St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

Dr Mohandas served as a faculty member at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai from 1989 to 2012 and was Professor and Head of the Department of Digestive Diseases and Convener of the GI Cancer Management Group. He has been a member of the European Society for Digestive Oncology and Medical Screening Society since their inception. He was the secretary and the president of the Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India. He has served as the Dean of Academics at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and Convener, Board of Studies for Health Sciences at the Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai (Deemed University). He is currently a member of the Academic Council of the Medical Council of India and a member of the Digestive Oncology Task Force of the World Gastroenterology Association.
