Editorial Board

Dr Eddie Mwebesa is a graduate of the Makerere University School of Medicine in Kampala, Uganda, and completed a Masters of Internal Medicine from the same college, and MSc in Public Health from the International Health Sciences University in Kampala.

Currently he is the Chief Executive Director of Hospice Africa Uganda, a Palliative Care physician and is completing an International Palliative Medicine Fellowship at OhioHealth, Columbus, Ohio in the USA. 

Eddie is also a Fellow of the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians and holds membership with the Association of Physicians of Uganda, the Palliative Care Association of Uganda, the Uganda Medical Association, and formerly held a position on the Hospice Africa Uganda Research Ethics Committee.

His research interests are in the integration of palliative care into the health services delivery systems of countries in sub-Saharan Africa, and increasing availability and accessibility to opioid medications for patients with life limiting illnesses in resource-poor settings.
