Adel Aref is a medical oncologist from Egypt. He started his training in the Clinical Oncology department, Ain Shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt in 2005. In 2008 he got his masters degree in Clinical Oncology
Adel worked as a medical oncology specialist in Egypt, then moved to Dubai, UAE, where he worked for 5 years. During this time he got his ESMO certification in medical oncology and the Speciality Certification of Medical Oncology (SCMO) from the Royal College of Physicians, UK.
In 2012, he started ‘MedicalSurveys-17 Research Group’, which established a number of projects that screen the clinical practice of cancer management in the Middle East region.
In 2016, Adel moved to Adelaide, South Australia, to start his PhD in medicine at the School of Medicine, University of Adelaide . His is a team member of the Lipids and prostate cancer research group based at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.
Adel's interests include breast cancer, prostate cancer, cancer and metabolic diseases, cancer screening and the effect of socio-economics on cancer management.
