It give us great pleasure to cordially invite you for the 15th conference on “Evidence Based Management of Cancers in India EBM 2017” to be held from 24th to 26th February 2017, at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, India. Tata Memorial Centre, a leading tertiary cancer centre in Asia is celebrating 75 years of its glorious existence. EBM 2017 is part of a year-long celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai. Evidence based management of cancers across the country has been a major focus of Tata Memorial Centre. To facilitate the concept and application of EBM we have been conducting annual meetings for the past fourteen years.
Each year, the meeting addresses pertinent issues in the field of specific cancers and publishes guidelines which can be easily practiced across India. This year's theme is “From controversy to consensus - Shaping Indian national cancer policy”. This theme aligns well with the one of the goals of National Cancer Grid, an initiative funded by Government of India through the Department of Atomic Energy, of having uniform standards for management of cancers across India. The conference will focus on the six most common cancers in India namely oral, breast, lung, cervical, stomach and colorectal cancers. Leading national and international experts will discuss the available evidence on various controversial issues in prevention, management and research in each of these cancers. The expert opinion based on these discussions will be presented to the attendees during the conference and adopted as policy statement of the National Cancer Grid.
The target audience who will benefit from this meeting is surgical, radiation and medical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, physicians, surgeons, anasthesiologists, residents and trainees, basic scientists, translational researchers, patient groups and policy makers.
We look forward to welcoming you at this annual event and to be a part of Tata Memorial Centre's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
