Prof Laila Hessissen speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about the existing gap between low- and middle-income countries (LMICS) and high-income countries in regards to the care and outcomes of paediatric patients.
She mentions that this gap is mostly attributed to the lack of adequate paediatric facilities to accurately diagnose and treat these patients.
Prof Hessissen also discusses what can be done to address this gap, but emphasises the need for government involvement to achieve this.
