Dr Bishal Gyawali - Queen's University, Kingston, Canada

Dr Bishal Gyawali speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about the use of real-world data to inform clinical practice in low-resource settings.

He states that the overuse of resources, overtreatment and overdiagnosis are all growing concerns in low-income settings, where the resources available should be used for interventions that work and are of benefit to the patient.

Dr Gyawali discusses if local guidelines should be developed for each specific country, so they can manage their resources more effectively.

He also evaluates the treatment of lung and colorectal cancer within this context.
