Dr Rasaq Oyesegun - National Hospital, Abuja, Nigeria

Dr Rasaq Oyesegun speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about a study looking at the journey of a breast cancer patient in Africa.

He explains the study was conducted in 6 centres across Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya and looked at key areas of a patient's journey.

Dr Oyesegun reports that patients had to often travel huge distances, up to 400 kilometres, for them to access treatment.

He also reports that patients cannot afford a lot of treatments as the majority of patients are paying out of pocket.
