Prof Richard Pötter talks to ecancer.tv about recent advances in gynaecological radiotherapy. The integration of imaging technology into brachytherapy allows the use of much higher doses and for treatment to be targeted more accurately at cancer cells. Prof Pötter outlines the difficulties funding clinical trials into the treatment of cervical cancer when this cancer can technically be prevented. Prof Pötter finishes by emphasising the need for ESTRO to use its educational programme to develop international relationships and encourage more multi disciplinary research.
