Prof David Cameron - Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre, UK
Speaking about his session at the National Cancer Research Institutes cancer conference, Prof David Cameron presented a challenge to his audience asking them how researchers and clinicians can use pathological and molecular insights to better utilise current treatment.
Currently predictions are made about the side effects of radiotherapy. In the future oncologists hope to understand better why some patients get toxicity later than others. In the long term, Dr Cameron hopes that the ability to analyse and evaluate on going treatment and then alter treatment, if needed, will soon develop.
