Dr Paula Isabel Franco - St Luke’s Medical Center, Malina, Philippines

Dr Paula Isabel Franco speaks to ecancer about metastatic colon cancer in the parotid gland.

Her case study presents a case of stage IV sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma with metastases to the left parotid.

The study pursued the histologic diagnosis of this uncommon area of metastasis and explains the treatment plan that was followed.

Dr Franco says that for the patient in question, it was essential to coordinate with surgery and pathology to maximise the diagnostic yield of a repeat biopsy while minimising complications and treatment delays.
