Dr Marta Zerga - Hospital Alemán , Buenos Aires, Argentina

Dr Marta Zerga speaks to ecancer about the use of positron emission tomography in patients with classical Hodgkin lymphoma outside of Europe and North America.

This was an international, multi-centre, retrospective B-Holistic study. Dr Zerga initially talks about the background of the study. She then discusses the results and explains the effectiveness of PET for treating cHL patients in Argentina.

The study showed that PET use in cHL and RRHL outside Europe and North America was suboptimal. Dr Zerga further mentions some challenges to the use of PET in patients with classical Hodgkin lymphoma outside of Europe and North America and how these global inequalities can be bridged.

Dr Zerga concludes that these findings suggest the need for upscaling numbers and access to PET scanners outside Europe and North America through careful planning and in-depth assessment of socioeconomic, demographic, and epidemiological circumstances of each country.
