We are extremely sad to announce that the Scientific Editor of ecancermedicalscience, Dr Linda Cairns, has passed away.
Linda studied Developmental Biology and Embryology at University College London and worked at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan for many years.
She represented ecancer at numerous international conferences and provided invaluable support for commissioning new papers and peer review for the journal, as well as using her scientific expertise to guide its editorial direction.
Linda was instrumental in supporting ecancer as a whole since the very beginning and her enthusiasm, sense of humour and warmth will be much missed.
We are an independent charity and are not backed by a large company or society. We raise every penny ourselves to improve the standards of cancer care through education. You can help us continue our work to address inequalities in cancer care by making a donation.
