Education with a focus on translational cancer research is still an unmet need.

To cover that need, the Summer School in Translational Cancer Research will bring together PhD students, postdocs, and researching clinicians (residents) from the entire research continuum and has been a much appreciated and successful event in the past years.

The Summer School in Translational Cancer Research will take place in beautiful Algarve, Portugal, from October 7-11, 2019.

It is offered under the umbrella of Cancer Core Europe (CCE), organized in cooperation with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg, as well as the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK).

This Summer School will give examples of research areas covering the continuum from basic through clinical research, to what is needed for an adoption into the health care system and outcomes research.

Main topics in this year will be:

·         Personalized Cancer Medicine

·         Drug Development

·         Immunooncology and Immunotherapy

·         Cancer Prevention

·         Science Policy, Patient and Public Involvement

The participants will have the possibility to present their research projects by oral or poster presentations.

Moreover, the Summer School in Translational Cancer Research will give excellent opportunities for participants to interact with well-known speakers, create networks, and initiate collaborations in Europe and world-wide.
