Target audience
This course was developed to support the professional development of post-graduate surgical trainees.
Learning objectives
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- Refresh your anatomy knowledge of the breast and axilla.
- Understand the effect of endogenous and exogenous hormones on breast physiology and the evidence behind recommendations for contraception and HRT in women.
- Develop an awareness of the risk factors and genetics of breast cancer to identify women at high risk of the disease.
- Be aware of the different ways that breast cancer develops and the implication of the different molecular and histological subtypes in treatment and prognosis.
